Overview
PixelBoy is a retro handheld console app available on iOS and Android. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data is collected and how it is used across both platforms.
Data We Collect
- Analytics Events: We use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous usage data such as which games are played, session duration, and app events. This data is not linked to your identity.
- Crash Reports: We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect anonymous crash and error reports to improve app stability. This includes device model, OS version, and stack traces. No personal information is included.
- Advertising Data: Google AdMob serves non-personalized rewarded ads. On Android, the advertising ID may be used for ad serving and analytics. On iOS, no advertising identifiers (IDFA) are collected or shared.
- Cloud Sync (iOS): Your game progress, points balance, and unlocks are synced via Apple iCloud. This data stays within your Apple account and is not accessible to us.
- Cloud Sync (Android): Your game progress and high scores may be synced via Google Play Games Services. This data is managed by your Google account.
- In-App Purchases: Purchase transactions are handled entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We do not collect or store any payment information.
Data We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or any personally identifiable information (PII).
- We do not collect location data.
- We do not collect photos, contacts, or health data.
Third-Party Services
Purpose of Data Collection
- Analytics: To understand how players use the app and improve the experience.
- Crash Reporting: To identify and fix bugs and improve app stability.
- Advertising: To serve rewarded ads that let players earn in-game points.
- Cloud Sync: To preserve your progress across devices.
- Leaderboards: To enable competitive scoring between players.
Advertising ID (Android)
On Android, the app may access the device's advertising ID for the purpose of serving ads through Google AdMob and for analytics through Firebase. You can reset or opt out of personalized ads through your device's Settings under Google > Ads.
Data Retention
Analytics and crash data is retained by Firebase for up to 14 months. Advertising data retention is governed by Google's policies. iCloud data persists as long as your Apple account is active. Google Play Games data persists as long as your Google account is active.
Your Choices
- On iOS, you can disable iCloud sync in iOS Settings.
- On Android, you can reset your advertising ID or opt out of ad personalization in device Settings.
- On Android, you can manage Google Play Games data through your Google account settings.
Children's Privacy
PixelBoy does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The app does not require account creation or personal information.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
